Winter wedding

Sabrina and Jared got married recently on  beautiful Lake Superior. It was cold, but the snow made the photos all the more beautiful in my opinion.
Congratulations to Jared and Sabrina, I wish you many, many happy years together.

Baby Charlotte

I was so honored to be at the hospital the day that little Charlotte was born. It was a long hard labor for her Mama, but I am sure she would say that it was all worth it now ;)
Charlie was a dainty little thing and so adorable.

Then when she was 11 days old I went to their home and took a few newborn photos. She just gets cuter by the day!

I can't wait to watch her grow.

Liz and Nate

Liz is one of my daughter's good friends and I have known her for quite a while. We drove around NE and shot at a few of my favorite places. I had a great time photographing Liz and her boyfriend, Nate. Thanks, you two.

Hello, November

I am working hard on my printed portfolio for our portfolio show at the end of the month. I am super excited to be able to share some of my best and favorite work so far. It's so fun to look back at the photos I took in my first couple of semesters and see how much I have learned and grown as a photographer. Learning lighting is so important and I think that is what makes a great photograph and what I have learned the most about. I love natural light, but I also love playing around with studio lights and seeing how dramatic I can make a photograph.

One of the photographs that I will be including in my portfolio is one of my favorite photos of all time that I have taken. His face just cracks me up! All natural light.

Fall 2012

We have had a beautiful fall this year in Minnesota. I love the cooler weather, the changing colors of the leaves and that gentle feeling that it's almost time to settle in for winter.

Recently I was Wisconsin for a long weekend and it was just as beautiful there as it is here. I took some photos to remember our time there. While I love shooting portraits, I also love shooting nature. Flowers, landscapes, water.

As a country girl living in the city I revel in the days that I get to spend out in nature. I also love me a good campfire. Because, hello? S'mores!
